Black Labrador Retriever - Large - Baby - Female - Dog - Maggie

Update- 8-13-09 - Maggie is recovering very nicely from her surgery. She will be having her staples removed in a few days. She does not show any signs of nerve damage in her foot. She is walking on it rather than dragging it like she did preoperatively. She has the most absolutely sweetest personality & loves to shower you with kisses while wagging her tail continuosly. Despite everything, she is such a happy little girl & just adores people, especially children. She weighed 29 lbs.on her last Vet visit. This sweet, 6 month old baby was found wandering the city streets a few days after being hit by a car. She was limping & dragging one of her front paws. The wonderful volunteer who picked her up is generously paying her medical expenses. Her injuries were a fractured elbow, abcessed teeth & possible hole in her palette. A local vet determined that she be taken to the Ohio State Veterinary Hospital for immediate surgery. The procedure had to be done as soon as possible to prevent any further nerve damage if the leg was to be saved. She was then transported by the same caring volunteer to Columbus. She now has pins & screws in her elbow & her 2 front teeth have been extracted. Luckily, she did not need any further oral surgery. She is currently on 6 wks. of cage rest.
